Where exceptional people create exceptional experiences

We’re Not Just Another Dental Practice

At Edinburgh Dental, we do things differently. While other practices focus on throughput and efficiency, we focus on relationships and excellence. While others rush through appointments, we take time to truly understand our patients. While others see dental work as routine, we see it as an opportunity to transform lives.

If this resonates with you, you might be exactly the kind of person we’re looking for.

The People Behind the Practice

Our team isn’t just a collection of employees – we’re a carefully assembled group of professionals who genuinely care about our craft and our patients. From Dr Ferhan Ahmed’s dual medical and dental qualifications to Dr Aran’s internationally recognised work in cosmetic dentistry to our dental nurses with advanced diplomas in “professional hand-holding” – we attract people who are passionate about excellence.

What Makes Edinburgh Dental Different?

We Take Time

While the industry pushes for faster appointments and higher volumes, we believe in giving patients the time they need and deserve. Our consultations are thorough, our treatments are unhurried, and our care is comprehensive.

We Invest in People

Professional development isn’t just encouraged at Edinburgh Dental – it’s expected. We support our team members in pursuing advanced training, attending conferences, and developing expertise that benefits both their careers and our patients.

We Value Expertise

We’re the practice that other dentists refer their most complex cases to. We’re where nervous patients finally feel comfortable. We’re where patients travel from across Scotland and further afield for treatment. This level of trust is built by having exceptional people who take pride in exceptional work.

We Create Experiences,
Not Just Appointments

From our “famously friendly” consultations to our attention to the smallest details, we focus on making every patient interaction memorable for the right reasons.

Who Thrives at Edinburgh Dental?

The Perfectionist

You take pride in your work and aren’t satisfied with “good enough”. You want to create results that exceed expectations, but you also understand that perfection in healthcare means doing excellent work efficiently and compassionately.

The Continuous Learner

The field of dentistry is constantly evolving, and you love staying ahead of the curve. Whether it’s new techniques, technologies, or approaches to patient care, you’re eager to grow your expertise.

The People Person

You genuinely enjoy connecting with patients and colleagues. You understand that anxiety is real, that trust must be earned, and that every interaction matters. You’re the kind of person patients specifically request to see.

The Problem Solver

When challenges arise – and they always do in healthcare – you approach them with creativity and determination. You see obstacles as opportunities to demonstrate your expertise and care.

The Team Player with Individual Excellence

You work brilliantly as part of a team while also taking personal ownership of your role. You celebrate others’ successes and aren’t threatened by working alongside other exceptional professionals.

The Application Process That Reflects Our Values

Just as we take time with our patients, we take time with our hiring process:

Step 1: Initial Expression of Interest

Submit your CV and a cover letter that tells us why you’re interested in joining Edinburgh Dental specifically. Generic applications don’t align with our personalised approach to patient care.

Step 2: Informal Chat

If there’s potential mutual interest, we’ll have an informal conversation about your background, aspirations, and what you’re looking for in your next role.

Step 3: Practice Visit

Spend time with the team, observe how we work, and get a feel for our culture. This helps both of us determine if there’s a good fit.

Step 4: Skills Assessment

Depending on the role, this might involve clinical assessment, patient interaction scenarios, or problem-solving exercises.

Step 5: Team Integration

If everyone feels positive about moving forward, we’ll discuss terms, expectations, and how to ensure your successful integration into the team.

Ready to Explore Possibilities?

Whether you’re actively looking for a new opportunity or simply curious about what makes Edinburgh Dental special, we’d love to hear from you.

Current specific openings will be listed below when available, but we’re always interested in exceptional people regardless of immediate vacancies.

To start a conversation about potential opportunities, please submit:

  • Your current CV
  • A brief cover letter explaining what draws you to Edinburgh Dental
  • Any questions you have about working with our team

We review all submissions personally and respond to everyone who takes the time to reach out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. While experience is valuable, we’re more interested in finding people who share our commitment to patient care and professional excellence. We’ve successfully onboarded new graduates who demonstrate the right attitude and potential.

We believe that professionals who are personally fulfilled provide better patient care. While we maintain high standards, we also respect the importance of life outside work and don’t expect our team to sacrifice personal well-being for professional demands.

Beyond meeting GDC requirements, we expect our team members to actively pursue professional development. We provide both financial support and time allowances for education that enhances your skills and our patient care.

We prefer to promote from within when possible and actively work with team members to identify advancement opportunities that align with their career goals and our practice needs.

Current Open Positions

No current openings, but we’re always building our talent pipeline for future opportunities.

Take the Next Step

If you’re the kind of professional who takes pride in exceptional work, values genuine patient relationships, and wants to be part of a team that’s setting new standards in dental care, we’d love to hear from you.

The best time to start a conversation is before you need a new opportunity. Building relationships with exceptional people is an ongoing process for us, and getting to know potential team members over time often leads to the best outcomes for everyone.

Edinburgh Dental is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive.

Jack Rollinson

Dental Therapist

Running is a big part of my routine. I mix up interval training with longer runs and I’m working towards a half marathon this year. I’m always trying to improve my time and keep things moving forward. Outside of that, I play football socially (Everton supporter — for better or worse!) and I’m looking forward to the World Cup, obviously!

I originally studied physiology before going back to train as a dental therapist. I’ve always been drawn to science, but I knew I wanted something a bit more hands-on — a role where every day is a bit different and you’re not stuck behind a screen.

When I’m not working, I like getting away and exploring new places. That could be a quiet weekend in the countryside with friends or a few days in a new city — Lisbon was a personal highlight! I like keeping things balanced — staying active, trying new things, and enjoying the pace of it all.
